I always look for the waterfalls off that cliffline when I am on the boat.
You actually have captured them in your photo.

On the Overland Track heading out from Narcissus as it skirts Lake St Clair. Olympus, Byron and Byron Gap in view.

Right mountains - but you need to consider the order they are in - not the Cuvier Valley

That is probably close enough - but it is actually the Overland Track before we got to the Byron Gap turnoff.

That was my next guess! I didn't remember it being that narrow.

Right quarter of the state, but wrong body of water.

Clue time:
It's the northern end of one of the other main bodies of water in the SW. The speckie looking peak is a key (celestial) feature in determining our whereabouts. We'd passed another celestial feature in the boat that gave us access.

Only from what i've seen of it and one other parties report. It's a complex looking thing though and I believe a bit on the "green" side.

Good guesses so far, I can see the resemblance to both, but no not on the Loddon range either.

I can see the resemblance there too Doogs, but there's not much buttongrass on that end of the Franklands.
