That's the one. Square Lake from the terrace part way up Procyon Peak.

That interesting rock feature atop the cliff on the other side of Square Lake was visible and recognisable from as far away as West Portal from memory.

Olympus!

Although I'm surprised at just how far south of East the sunrise is in that photo. I've just checked and yes, it rises at 119° Southeast today, and gets as far around as 124° Southeast around the solstice (from Hobart). (I should know this from where I see it rise from my house, but I've just never taken note of just how far South of East it actually gets.)

Yeah I was genuinely surprised as well to see where the sun was coming up over the horizon. When I looked at the southern part of Olympus, I couldn't help but feel like I was looking in a southerly direction, when in fact it's more SE.
But yeah, you're on the money, so it's over to you.

It is an amazing view up there at any time. That must have been great to watch the Sun coming up right over the southern peak!

If that's Cape Hauy, then perhaps you're out near Mt Fortescue? Been a while since I was around there, so I can't really remember what the views are like.
