That just happens to be where my current profile pic (or avatar - whatever it's called  ) was taken.
Where's this?

Yes we are. From the top of The Labyrinth up past Pool of Memories. We camped just at the top by the unnamed tarn there. Perfect spot.
Your go, Tortoise.

That's very generous, Graham. I thought I'd start general and narrow it down if I was in the ball park!

Next one has two parts, but only the first part actually counts.
1. Where was I?
DSC03710.jpg
Pelion West, Cradle and Emmett from Thetis

2. What was the significance of it?

Obviously either your three hundredth peak or your three hundredth point.
Only place I can think of that would get that angle on Pelion West and Cradle would be Thetis.

Yep and yep. Points, not peaks, but it felt good - since not that long ago I was only aiming for 200 points in my lifetime!
Shame about the 24 hours of snow and rain with howling winds (2 mm of rain with light winds forecast). Not sure if I'll get back for Achilles and Perrins. A moderately un-useful hand has resulted in a huge loss of confidence and speed on boulders. :(

It was a pity - Perrins is superb and Leonards a marvellous place to camp. Achilles (and its heel) aren't half bad, either.
Hands are almost as bad as knees. Maybe we should try for a bulk discount with an orthopaedic surgeon and get everything fixed at once?

No points on this walk as it was a repeat summit, but fairly sure even the original was not any sort of milestone. But it was still a (mostly) good day as it meant ticking off something on the 'been wanting to do that for ages' list.

I'll keep an eye out for that discount! Heck of a rehab job afterwards, though...

Yes, I was really looking forward to finally getting to Leonards. Might still manage that, but keeping up with the people I'm comfy going with is a big issue beyond that. Would love to finally get to the 'house' I've seen so often from up Cradle way, which I think is Perrins.

I'm not alone in having climbed this, although most use a different route.

I'm getting a southern west coast range vibe here, possibly somewhere on the Jukes range... Pyramid Peak?

South and West are the only bits you got right. Think again about the first bit of my last post.

ps: sorry about the hiatus - been away for the weekend.

Yes, Solitary from the north. And if yu're wondering what it's like - not so bad if you go the route I planned. Less pleasant if you go the route I ended up on.
