A clue, the photo was taken in the late afternoon looking towards the location in the previous photo.

Would you be on ironstone mountain?
Mon 08 Jan, 2018 9:03 am
That is close enough, I was over on the Bastion Bluff side of Ironstone Mountain.

Looks familiar. Barn Bluff looking into Fury Gorge?

It's Barn Bluff but I don't know about Fury Gorge. Please give more details about the location in relation to something fixed. Ta everso.

Huh? Have the game rules changed or is my "Where am I?" answer of Barn Bluff incorrect? On my only visit to Barn Bluff it looked pretty fixed. Less relevant, but fairly sure the dominant background feature is Fury Gorge.

What is happening is that you are answering lopohophaps.... where simplicity is ruled out by definition ....
Yes - the view is of the Fury River on the RHS valley floor.
Yes - you are definitely on the climb up Barn Bluff.
Perhaps he was after Pencil Pine Bluff as the background high ground?
PS - how can he not have heard of Fury Gorge?

Thank you. I had not heard of Fury Gorge, never been there. It was not on the portion of map that I was viewing as it was folded away. Pencil Pine Bluff is not on my map. If the answer had been "Ascending Barn Bluff" then that would have been enough. All yours, John.

Yes Dan. From memory I'm standing at or near the trig on Mt Roland.

Somewhere on the South Coast. Perhaps Flat Rock Plain on South Cape Range?
Thu 11 Jan, 2018 8:18 am
Mt O'Brien/Morning Hill, just up behind Schooner cove.
Thu 11 Jan, 2018 6:05 pm
Neither, but 'Last' is close! I'm after the range I am on and maybe what I'm looking at
Fri 12 Jan, 2018 8:14 am
You could be on the Erskine range with the Breaksea islands and Big Caroline Rock visible.

On the way up Shining Mountain?
Fri 12 Jan, 2018 1:23 pm
Right quarter, wrong range.
Fri 12 Jan, 2018 1:26 pm
The shale ridge in the background reminds me of the ridge between the Citadel and Murphy's Bluff. Maybe this is at Frankland Saddle?
Fri 12 Jan, 2018 2:22 pm
Right range, wrong spot.

Burnt valley in view on left would be enroute to Remote peak on the Companion range. I reckon you'd be on or near Lloyd Jones?

Closer, but still not quite as you've gone too far along.
