Fossil Lake, I think. With a lot more water than when I saw it!

That's correct Tortoise. Mt Mueller up there somewhere in the mist.

Thanks, Last. Lovely walk - it was great to finally get there.

If only! Didn't make it to Philps, but this is one of the 3 whose acquaintance I made on that trip.

That looks like the Pine Knob ridge behind, and with towers like that you pretty well must be on Sharlands.
Thu 21 Jun, 2018 6:19 pm
Yep, with the main track visible traversing lower left, and the 'artichokes' of Artichoke Valley visible at the left hand edge of the ridge you mentioned. Take it away, nnw.

Must get back before they privatise it.
How about this one?

Anything like that in The Never Never??
Thu 21 Jun, 2018 7:58 pm
Actually, there is something identical to that in the Never Never. And I don't know why the place has such a bad reputation as it's gorgeous.
Back to you.

Well there you go. My pics only showed more of a mirror image of yours, but the general look was rather familiar. I agree on the reputation! I really enjoyed it too.

- Mts Lot and Anne from Lots Wife - surprisingly easy when you traverse far enough around the north side. If the gully is pretty tricky, you've probably gone up too early.

Clear Hill?
Thu 21 Jun, 2018 9:39 pm
No, but that's not as far away as it could be.
Thu 21 Jun, 2018 9:43 pm
stepped hills

Stepped is closer but still not quite right.
This spot does not have a name (except the often whimsical names I give to my campsites), so location needs to be given in terms of where I was and where I might be going and roughly where I am between those.

Are you on the Denison range, with bonds Craig being the visible peak in the background?
Fri 22 Jun, 2018 10:31 am
That will do, although the peaks behind are both Reeds and Bonds, with a bit of Great Dome thrown in.
Fri 22 Jun, 2018 11:14 am
Going to be honest, I thought it was in between Reeds Peak and Bonds Craig... but i'll take it
Where was I on Monday?

That looks a bit like the Hounslow Heath track
Fri 22 Jun, 2018 12:02 pm
That's because it is the Hounslow Heath track, just before you drop down towards the Maryland Track, and where you turn off to head to Brewery Knob.
Your turn.

I thought you might, but I had too many other things to do to keep monitoring this and wanted to speed it up again.

Looks like a great day up there.
Where am I standing?
