I'd say you are in the vicinity of Lee Archer Cave.
Fri 24 Aug, 2018 1:53 pm
Are you on the way to Leearcher Cave looking back towards Sisters Beach?
edit- a couple of minutes too late
Fri 24 Aug, 2018 1:56 pm
But more specifically that is probably Wet cave Point in the foreground.

Both correct.
On the way to Lee-Archer Cave after passing Wet Cave Point

Things seem to have stalled. More than 24 hours have passed. Try this.

Both lovely spots those.
Anyone recognize this bay that comes with it's own stove sheltered rock?

Nice stove stand. Are you somewhere on the Tasman or Forestier Peninsula
Tue 28 Aug, 2018 9:54 am
Yes I am. A place of a significant historical event.
Perfect little stove shelter isn't it. It was very convenient on a windy day.

I have not been there yet but I imagine Deep Glen Bay might look a bit like this?
Tue 28 Aug, 2018 11:19 am
That's the one. A surprisingly nice walk. The manferns through the descent gully are the most impressive I've seen anywhere.
Tue 28 Aug, 2018 12:32 pm
The name Deep Glen Bay rang a bell and your clue "A place of a significant historical event" interested me so I looked it up. The place where the Blythe Star survivors made it to shore. It's quite a climb out of the bay, how hard do you think it would have been, especially when hypothermic and starved?
Tue 28 Aug, 2018 12:39 pm
I think it's a *&%$#! miracle none of them died to be honest. Its 200+ metres to climb out of the bay alone without then making it to civilization. It's a great little walk combined with cape surville.
There's a great white sharks jaws in the lufra hotel that was found dead in a fisherman's net that was set in that small bay...

I believe it is also a fairly well known dive spot and I was considering going there as there are meant to be some large undersea rock formations and caves. Might think twice about that now.
