This is near the start of a tourist walk - but looks very different from this photo from 1983.

you are looking up the Hercules Haulage from Williamsford. It looks fairly intact then, was it still in operation? I first saw it about 5 years later, it was stripped then from memory.

That shot doesn't really show the route across, which is a bit further west. It's not as bad as it looks from a distance, except the area immediately around the creek.

Yes Last.
A fantastic gravity fed system - that still had its cars in place when I first saw it.
So a gravity fed rail car fed into a gravity fed aerial bucket system for a completely motor free transport system!!
Not sure if it was still "operational" - but it could still function at the time.

No tracks, cables or cars left now.

Wylly Plateau was closer. I feel as if I should give it to you Graham, it's on top of Mt Wylly. You were real close I probably was a bit harsh on not giving it the first time. Over to you
