You're not any closer, but not really any further.

Wylds? I'm just guessing. I can't make out anything in the background, all I have is the rock (dolerite) and vegetation (alpine).

Yep, the photo didn't upload very clearly. The Spires and POW range are in the background.

Looks like Pelverata Falls with a bit of water in it.
I've only ever seen a small trickle.
Tue 17 Sep, 2019 12:53 pm
That's it.
Slippery Creek Falls were also looking good!

Will have to get back up there after some heavy rain.

Looks like Thark Ridge, from South Wellington?
Wed 18 Sep, 2019 6:11 pm
Yep, thats it

I like the mood of the shot. I spent a lot of time up there in the seventies as a young lad. I wonder if the chimney still stands at the burnt out Thark Hut? We used to cut over the to that hut from the fire trail on the other side of the ridge.
Anyone can go...

I actually had stumbled upon the Thark Hut ruin on this day. The Chimney no longer stands, just the lower section of fireplace and a few bits of tin, I did see half of an old ceramic marmite jar - pretty cool
