Background for some reason makes me think of Bon Accord.

Correct, the background does not match. Bon Accord is closer but not right.

Yeah, someone should. But given that the as yet unidentified location is in Victoria, maybe the next entry should also come from that state.

I'm waiting on another guess. It's close to Dibbins Hut, in a valley.

My apologies, Lophophaps. I'd given you up for, well, perhaps not dead, but possibly comatose.

Not dead yet! The last guess was on 28 April by bernieq, and I then said "Closer, but not at Dibbins Hut." Then Zapruda a few hours ago. I was waiting on another guess. The pic is off the beaten or any track, not many people go there. It's a brilliant campsite. A Beatles song comes to mind, PS, I love you.

No. Dibbins is closer. Near the top of the hill above the campsite is a hut with this:

Dibbins or Spargo

(BTW lop, might be worth re-reading the game rules - esp. pic type and timelines)

Maybe Quintet Mine site, on Swindlers Spur. The Beatles were a quintet when they recorded that saccharin song.

I read the rules. I'll happily provide clues but if nobody is posting .. This may need clarification. No to all the above locations. Go downstream from Dibbins Hut.

Very close, but too far downstream. Find a feature with the initials PS on a river junction.

Neil, correct. Paling Spur is nice, hence the Beatles song, PS, I love you. The head with the green hair is at the SEC Hut, often incorrectly referred to as Youngs Hut. From the campsite on the Cobungra River go up Paling Spur then northish to the SEC Hut. The campsite is about 700 metres upstream of the bottom of Brandy Creek FT, where a creek comes from the east. Wear gaiters - the grass is long on the river and there's no track.

Thanks Lops, man that was about as vague a clue as you'd get. I listened to the song, read the words......nothing   The river junction was the problem solver.

This one Victoria. Where am I?

Near enough GBW. It's the track out to the AAWT from Baw Baw and it's the East or West Tanjil valley if I recall correctly.
Take it away.

Is this looking over Wimmera Plains somewhere on the lower part of Mt Arapiles below Mitre Rock or The Bluff lookout?

John was closing in - but I will give it to Peregrinator.
This is the view from the complex Mitre Rock - which was a relatively easy climb

Thanks, eggs, but I'm giving it to John W who more or less got it, and as I'm not able to post for several weeks.
