I was just messing around and didn't climb the cubic boulder at the very top, which I assume is the crux. The part I did was straightforward enough when taken slowly and methodically. :)

I think I have been here but for the life of me I can't identify it. Looks like you are somewhere above the Grose?

It's not Boyd (nice trig, that) but it is obviously a trig. Can't resist a gift clue... this is SSE of Boyd.

This is not in Blue Mountains NP or Kanangra-Boyd NP. It was a full day's walk to get out there and back (we finished in the dark) and would have been longer except that the scrub had been cleared out by hazard reduction burning in April 2018.

Time for a cryptic clue. When I reached the trig I, initially, couln't raise a grin.

Non-cryptically, the views brought a smile to my face.

I don't think the specific spot I took the photo from has a name, but I would accept either the name of the track I am on, the name of either of the features that track connects, or the name of the cliffline in the middle distance.

Both the spot where I parked my car, and the end point of the track I was on, have names that a resident of Arizona would probably find somewhat presumptuous.

I guess somewhere around Grand Canyon, just to narrow things down from the generous clue...

Am I on the right track?

yes, that's one of the spots I was alluding to and I think is close enough. You can either take the win and post something else, or have another guess if you want to get more precise...

If I say "yes" then it means my next photo will be obscure. So I will say "no" for 24 hours. After which you will all have to put up with whatever photo I post... and it will be NSW. Any takers?

well then, anyone other than Tyreless has 24 hrs to name either the exact track I was on, or the name of the feature in the middle distance.

Probably need a better map, but there is a track from Gran Canyon to Old Point Pilcher which would probably get this view over the end point of the Canyon towards Fortress Hill

So lets get the Peninsula sorted out 1st

Based on your clue I'd suggest The Fleurieu peninsula, however in my limited walking around it I can't recall a place like this.

Geez Eggs, I made it so easy for you with my Wast water entry in International game- throw us a bone here!!!!

Yours In desperation

I am on the Heysen Trail.
It only goes along the coast in one section that takes about 4 days to cover.
The name of one of the 2 popular surf beaches in the direction I am looking - or the name of the distant headland [which is in a Conservation park] will do.

This is a view over the last beach we crossed - the smaller of the surf beaches
It is looking towards the area where I took the first photo. KI is on the LHS.

Would the distant headland be the Deep Creek Conservation Park (the only part I've ever done) which means your probably at the Newlands head area.

I'm spending Christmas with my Adelaide based family near here at Victor Harbour and I'm hoping to do a bit more of the Heysen Trail then.

A bit reversed, as the headland in the first picture is Newlands Head and we had walked from that Conservation Park [which includes Waitpinga and Parsons Beach] and were now on private property.
The second picture over Parsons Beach is still a fair way from Deep Creek CP but the furtherest headland would be part of it.

PS - the Waitpinga Cliffs section out from Victor is spectacular - well worth doing.

I'll check it out at Christmas.

This next one is in Victoria. What is the name of the thing I am looking at?

Thanks. The cliff is known as Falcons Lookout. Is there a specific place on that cliff with that name? The little cave on the right is a giveaway. This next pic is in Victoria. I think it was NNW that made a comment about my file names, and mentioned the MCG. This is for her.
