No doubt that it's Doubtful Creek. McAlister Saddle is on the distant horizon. By "big hunk of rock", I mean the feature on the right across the creek, taller than a human.
My map and memory are silent on such fine detail. I know roughly where it is and have been there summer and winter, but do not know the name. Edit - is it the Monolith?
Correct. This is a lovely spot, slightly off the Mount Difficult circuit. Coming from the circuit track there's two creeks, with one just before the summit. If you like exposed campsites, near here is nice.
We took the kids there when I had to carry the youngest. That was the direct route up from Briggs Gap. I did not remember that particular overhang though.
No - this is still on Eyre Peninsula - it is west from Pt Lincoln NP.
You have thrown me with "granite" though? I don't know of any on York, and on Eyre it is all way up north. The third SA peninsula - Florieu - has granite at Victor Harbor.
Cape Wiles. Admit jimjim response prompted me to look at my Coffin Bay trip photos so jimjim can go if he pleases (otherwise I'll post a photo later tonight). That's if eggs confirms...........
Yes same here - knew the name of the road the area around the peninsula as Whalers Way but had to look up the name of the actual location (think Cape Wiles is considered the east end of the peninsula - the location of your photo - and thought I'd be specific).
