I must have been typing when GBW posted his photo. Nice photo though! I wonder where it was taken?

Clue 3...at the official opening of Parliament House, Canberra in 1927 something happened involving an Aboriginal Australian.

I have never been but using your clues I will guess King Billy #1

Nice clue, GBW. King Billy No.1 or No, 2, I suppose, but I've not been there yet.

It's King Billy #2 but I think you're close enough MickyB...take it away.

I had a 50/50 chance of picking the right King Billy and typically I picked the wrong one

Thanks GBW. Peregrinator posted only a couple minutes after me so I am happy to handball my turn over to him.

Very generous of you, MickyB. At least you were game to pick a number. I took the cautious way and mentioned both, but was thinking it might be better to change my answer to King Billy Number One-and-a-Half. So to speed things up, I'll post what ought to be an easy one in Victoria.

Nicole Gorge. GBW, that landscape looked so enticing in photographs from your AAWT trip report that it has stuck in my memory as somwhere I wanted to walk.

It's possible there are several signs similar to this one I saw in Victoria about one year ago. So I might need to provide a clue. At this point I'll just say that on two previous visits there was no sign and I duly took the alternate "route", going nowhere.

I'm looking at the photos on my phone (small screen) but it looks like sand on the sign so I'm thinking it's coastal. Your second photo is forest so I will try to narrow it down to somewhere along the GOW.

How appropriate. How about naming the intersection? Which, by the way, is at this spot but not in this shot. Remember I said that the path I took went nowhere. Had to do a u-turn. That was before the informal sign was stuck onto the formal sign. (Sorry, MickyB, not sand, just a grainy close-up of treated timber!)

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a sign like this one at that location. But this particular one ain't there.

Peregrinator, G'day.

The campsite at the crossing at Gill Creek? Or if I'm allowed a second guess? ... the campsite at the crossing at 4 Mile Creek?

Correct. In the second photograph: (right) start of a now overgrown road that once went up beside Howqua River South Branch, and (left) the beginning of Howitt Spur walking track (Howqua Feeder Track) through an old hut site. Not in the shot: Upper Howqua "Road" and Queen Spur "Road". Special mention to neilmny who correctly identified the general area.

Well thank you Mate. I'm not shy, to do so. I'll take a guess when I see someone's challenge stalling. With my posts few are brave enough to even initiate a guess, sadly ... until I totally give the answer away or post a well known beauty site.
