I will be very busy over the next two days (Lunar New Year and bushwalking). I won't be able to reply promptly so please bear with me.

It will be a complete fluke if I get this. Are you looking past Box Head in Bouddi NP towards Barrenjoey in the distance? Not sure where from, maybe near the Little Tallow beach track?

Thanks Michael. All guesswork, I haven't been to that spot but have done the Maitland Bay circuit a few kms NE.

NSW again (sorry, I'll try and find some more non-NSW shots).
I'm at the trig of a named peak looking at another named feature nearby:

No. You're sort of in the general area but both of those would be a fair walk from here.

Just trying to narrow this down a bit . . . Buffalo NP? Don't know it well enough to be precise.

On the Horn at Mt Buffalo.
In my photo you can see a structure on the rocky peak on the middle LHS - I think it is Eagle Point.

It was fresh in the memory from a visit last Nov.

What pile of rocks did I visit in Vic while on the way to the alps?

I don't think it fits with Arapiles.... there are hills in the distance that don't fit the Arapiles Wimmera area, although the rocks do look vaguely like Arapiles....

Given the likely route from Adelaide to the Alps and the general size of paddocks and crops / vegetation I am guessing somewhere in the Bendigo / Northern plains area.

Perhaps given the relative altitude it is Pyramid Hill?

Yes - Definitely Pyramid Hill looking across to Mt Hope.
It was a surprisingly tricky route to the top of these granite blocks

Where is this seldom seen cataract - flowing or not - at a very popular destination in Victoria. The rock is unmistakeable.

Are you somewhere between Wannon and Nigretta Falls?

Not on the Wannon or Glenelg rivers.

I am due north of Wannon....

From the clues- north of Wannon is... Arapiles.?
So the ROCK is unmistakable - not the rock type.
It definitely sticks out like a sore thumb.
Not sure exactly where this is though - and I did a loop walk through there that same November last year.

Yes, Arapiles.

This is the rarely visited falls at the very top of "Basin Creek" in the middle of the scrub on top of the mount. Not many climbers go far away from the cliffs and even fewer venture out in the rain!

Another Arapiles waterfall. This one is the backdrop to the 3rd hole of the Golf Course....

Thanks for those. Fascinating and the greens are wonderful.
I had a very quick stretch-the-legs-while-doing-a-long drive walk zooming around the 4km summit circuit up and down the main face and it was much drier when I went through.

Staying on waterfalls in Vic - name these falls.
