My next thought is the Shoalhaven R. around Bungonia or thereabouts.

Gotta get back down that way. Apologies - another NSW shot, will look for other states next time I'm up:

Yes, Bungonia Slot Canyon, some big boulders in there to climb over.

My clearest memory of that peak was trying to replace the batteries in my GPS and finding three out of four in a new packet DOA. Not impressed.

Still snow and ice, but in Victoria. what was I climbing?

Unless I had been there and the spot had fixed in the memory - all you have is speculation. My wife would agree about the idle bit...:(

How does the Speculation work...hmm...looks like some scrambling up a broken rock line above the snow line..
So.. Speculation has a series of rock bands to ascend - but so does King Spur onto Koonika, McDonald, the Bluff, Helicopter Spur, Buggery, Stanleys Name Spur onto the Crosscut and probably some I am not aware of.
I have been down Helicopter and up Buggery and the Bluff, but not any others.
Even then - I may have passed it without a fix of that view in the mind. So its a case of stepping through them till we arrive..

Hey, at least you're having a shot at them... :D
I'm an ignorant northerner who wouldn't have the faintest idea where NNW's photo is. I was too late for all the nice easy NSW photos that I could actually identify.

It's somewhere there.
And this is a few metres off the track. Not far, but I did it on purpose to get this specific angle because you can see the possibilities from the track.

The Bluff it is. Just below the bit where I slipped on the ice going down. Ohhh, what a fun day that was.

Yes. The Bluff was a great little climb - definitely vertical in places.
I did that at the start of my 4 day trip with lots of water on board.

Next one is in SA.

Might get to check out Yanyanna [which I believe is still there] next week.
[Heysen trail photos make it out to be a tin structure.]

This one has some recent history as a restored location - lovely bunk area with mattresses, tables and chairs and a fire place.
The hill at the back offers a clue - check the skyline carefully.

Actually - I thought someone might suggest its an emu - which is also true if you look closely by enlarging the image.

Yes - it is the Mayo Hut on the Heysen Trail.
Near the Mayo Gorge on the Wonoka Creek.
Wonoka Hill is at back with Hawker nearby.

That skyline looked familiar from my walks around this area, even though I haven't got to Mayo Gorge yet (nor to County Mayo, old boyo).

The skyline in this Victorian shot is not too difficult to identify. Any suggestions about where the photograph was taken earn the good old bonus point.

Both peaks identified correctly and you get most of the bonus point. The view is looking north-north-west, but it is from a bit further away than Cobberas Track. It's from Dingo Flat, adjacent to Limestone Road.

Looks like our old favourite Barron Falls. I can't recall seeing that much water in them, must have been torrential.

I think I have "seen" more than this. I was essentially in a cloud of spray at the time...:)

I actually found a clip of the falls in flood on youtube last night, which made this fade into obscurity . I should look back through my photos over several visits and see how they compare. June last year there was not much flow at all.

I'll stick with QLD. Name the waterway, bonus points for identifying the track/my location:
