I should have mentioned that I did this walk ~15 years ago - current status is unclear.
We drove through Kangaroo Valley last week on the way back from a south coast holiday and the surrounding area is impacted by the fires.

Drift Hill is correct.

The whole area around Drift Hill, Moonbah, Paddy Rush's Bogong and Brindle Bull Peak is stunning and really open enjoyable walking. I highly recommend it.
