Hmm - complete disorientation.
Wrong peak and wrong angle.
I have limited maps and there are a lot of bumps but few named peaks in this area..
But sticking to names I should go with one of the biggest - Patawarta Hill itself. Looking north rather than east.

Its funny how the small peaks in the foreground are similar from both locations.
And it means that Mt Hack and Mt Andre and the Cockscomb are in view.
[PS - I have a shot from Mt McKinley [just visible in your shot] with Patawarta Hill just visible in mine.]

Eggs, Patawarta (Vathiwarta) is the location. As you identified, looking north. Vulkathunha in the distance and Narrina below, where I commenced the walk. I thought those small peaks (bumps?) in the foreground might be the most recognisable feature.

You get the nod for Walsh's Pyramid (which was tough on my wife)
And the mountain is Bellenden Kerr, second highest in Qld and sporting a broadcast tower on top (in the photo) only accessible by private cable car.

Thanks eggs. We are flying up to Cairns again at the end of next week for a week's r&r. I've been toying with the idea of having a go at Walsh's Pyramid myself, as a solo effort. The thought of climbing it bothers me much less than the effect of the descent on my dodgy knees. Will see what happens.

This is on a short circuit walk that starts and finishes at a popular campground located at a reasonably high elevation. Although not nearly so high as the terrain nearby.

Is it a named fall? Is it on the track that leaves Sawpit Creek Picnic Area in Kosciuszko NP?

No (at least as far as I know it's unnamed) and yes, that's the one MickyB. Listed as the Waterfall Walk. Your turn.

Thanks John. Caedo's guess certainly helped.

Are Forumites OK with this?

I've just read the original game rules that allows for the posting of photos taken from anywhere in OZ. I've also read Tony's additional rules that started this thread, where Tony wrote that the image must come from an Australian National Park.

Are people OK if my image that I'd like to post, is from a heritage listed NSW Nature Reserve?

If no one disagrees with my proposal, within the next short while, I'd like to revert to the original game rules ... and post a shot from a Nature Reserve.

I say go for it Warren (and not just because my image probably broke the rules  ). There have been many photos on here that are not in National Parks.

Yes - I really had not picked on the NP thing.
This has obviously not been followed for a huge number of postings now.

I also agree and many of my photos would have broken that rule too. I'd further suggest the rule be amended to include any location of interest or somehow relevant to bushwalkers, be it NP, state forest, nature reserve, crown land, stock route, national trail, local reserve, scenic lookout and so on...

Thank you, I couldn't have wished for better replies.

John, I'd like to second your proposal. I'm guessing Tony would agree too. Although, I've not seen him post for a while. Tony was a prolific poster. His last post was in late January 2016.

OK. Please name this NSW Nature Reserve or this body of water, high on the Great Dividing Range. This extraordinary place would look even more extraordinary when it snows.

Time for a clue?

Would a Welsh midget call a body of water like this ... a lake or a lagoon? The map makers on the web don't seem to know.

Jonnosan, you're close. It snows at Guyra, on the Norther Tablelands.

Mother of Ducks Lagoon is about 1260m asl. This lagoon or lake? (depending on the map?) is about 1360m asl. You just need to just raise your game a tad or zoom out a touch.

Jonnosan, your first answer was fabulous, you couldn't have been closer without nailing it.

Yes, the Ramsar listed wetland Little Llangothlan Lagoon on the New England Range of the Great Dividing Range. Llangothlan is a town in Wales.

... and a parting pic from Little Llangothlan Lagoon. It was very wet when I visited this Autumn past. When I walked towards the waters edge, the ground was floating ... like walking on a trampoline. There is a track that circumnavigates the lagoon but it was too wet to follow very far, back then. The channel draining the lagoon in the pic is a tributary of the Orban River which runs into the Sara River that flows into the Guy Fawkes. The hills in the background are in Sara River National Park.

Your go Mate and well done.
