Hmm...
The only other named peak I can find near there is Mt Wheatley.
But the photos which show a trig point seem to indicate it is positioned near the northern end of the spur that includes Porcupine Rocks...

eggs, if you are using the SIX Maps tool, for whatever reason the standard map display doesn't label the named peak I'm on. If you click Looking for 1943 imagery? then click (twice) the Topo maps (current) icon effectively an online version of the 1:25,000 paper topos displays. You will see this peak on it. I always use that view as it generally has more info.

Exactly. There are so many significant peaks out there without a name it baffles me.

Thanks Zapruda, glad I got that one. I climbed Mt Duncan less than 2 months ago but didn't recognize the photo.

Where was I, sweaty, dry and tired on a very hot day last Sunday, still in NSW...

In the middle distance it looks like Mt Colong, Yerranderie Peak and Byrnes Gap. So I am guessing somewhere on the Nattai. I'll do some more investigating later and see if I can pin this down a bit better.

Agree it's the Nattai but doesn't look like it's taken from anywhere I've been. Reckon you're looking down at where Martin's Ck meets the Nattai from the end of the firetrail that you usually turn left off to go to Wattle Ridge?

Not the end of the fire trail, wfbw, I'm off track but quite close. About 30 metres from a structure marked on the topo map.

Thanks Tyreless.

Wow, Sunday was a hot day to do an exposed walk like that. I was walking to your east on Sunday, down along Little River at Buxton. The day got hot quickly. We gave up, walked back out and went to Thirlmere Lakes instead.

I'll have a look for a photo tomorrow. Any one who wants to jump in please go ahead.

Michael.

P.S. Congrats for the FTF on the trig. :D

NSW. Bonus point if you can work out where I was standing when I took these photos.

Can you name this lookout:

OHares Creek Lookout, Dharawal NP.

You snuck a local one in Michael . Haven't been here for a while as it's just been too hot and tinder dry.
1. Looking at O'Hares Creek Lookout, Dharawal NP. I'm guessing your location has to be off track. I haven't been up there but maybe the 295m high point above the spur runnng east of the Jingga track? That's roughly opposite, possibly with some zoom.
2. View from O'Hares Creek Lookout looking southwest along the gorge.

Correct. Both photos where taken from the top of the cliffs just to the west of SH295. The lookout can just be made out in the second photo.

Grabbed these photos on my last trip up to the Old Coach Road. I hadn't been up there for over a decade and the scrub has become terrible. Couldn't see the road until I got within three metres of it. A decade ago it was a stroll through light scrub.

Your turn.

Further south of Dairymans Ck than it is north of Bogong Creek. A line between the two misses by about 3k. Near a hut.
