More water than when I did that bit, but the rock bar is still quite distinctive. Thanks for giving me an easy one.

Still in Soz. Where be this cairn?

It could be the view from Mt Ide. WP in the left half, Chace Range to the right on the horizon.

You need to have more confidence, peregrinator, because it is the view from Mt Ide towards Wilpena and Chace.

You could be right there, NNW. But my answer attempted to make an oblique allusion to the fact that I'd posted the same view some time ago.

Here's another very distinctive ridgeline. From what Victorian track was it being viewed?

It is indeed a very distinctive ridgeline. Next in NSW - name the lump visible through the smoke haze and bonus points if you can identify the track I was on.

Tyreless, getting out then was wise. Thanks for the answer to the bonus points offer which I declined to take. A very lame, "Mt Jagungal, looking to the west", was the best suggestion I could have come up with.

Next up, a distinctive (I expect) plateau and walking track. What Victorian summit was I close to arriving at?

Yes. In choosing that shot, I wondered how many Victorians have not walked up and/or down that spur? Probably quite a lot of non-Victorians have done it as well.

Thanks, I haven't as yet but there is a lot of Victoria I want to visit including there. Sadly there won't be much bushwalking in many places for some time to come.

NSW, not too far from Vic. I climbed this peak a number of years ago and visited the locality again in November.
Unfortunately since then wildfire has swept through much of the area in view, and well beyond.

Yes and possibly. We were actually there on a short 3 day cruise from Sydney. Among other things I took a stroll into town and back, visited the killer whale museum and yes, did that little walk that is part of the Bundian Way. I took some photos from there and from the ship. Struggling to recall my location as that lookout and the wharf are not far apart.

It's a pity the view from Mt Imlay down to the coast is not as impressive as the one from the coast to the mountain. Trees on the summit almost completely obstruct the scene.

This is in Victoria:

Yes, from memory the views on the way up were better. And when you reach the summit you have the pleasure of a Telstra tower and infrastructure for company .

Looking at Pinnacle Point, Grampians?

I'm sorry, GregR, you are seeing far too far. Nowhere that far south. As I said, it's closer to Mt William than The Pinnacle. Although it's also not all that far from The Pinnacle.

That's the closest so far, GregR. But my feature is closer to Mt William than Lubra. (I wonder why it got a name change?)

Well I'll split more than hairs, I'm going to split infinitives instead and to happily write- I have no idea.

On google earth it appears to be the cliffs due north of Mt William that look down over Bomjinna, but as to a name nuh, no idea.
