It's not Mt Warrigal, nor anywhere in the Wild Dogs.

I was facing roughly east to take that photo. Here's what it looks like from the same spot, facing south:

I think that first shot is Lions head, the second is mount solitary, and you are aboout half way up kedumba valley road

actually I think the angles don't work for both my above statements to be true, hopefully one of them is right though!

I agree about Mt Solitary. Maybe on the Sublime Point fire trail looking at Sublime Point?

1. Jonnosan, you are right that it's Lions Head. I took the first photo because I thought from that angle it really did look like a lion crouched down (with its head on the right).

2. You are correct to say that both of your statements can't be true simultaneously. I took the second photo because I thought it resembled Mt Solitary, yet I knew it wasn't. The east col of Mt Solitary was on my right as I took that photo. I think the second photo is of the cliffs on Kings Tableland about 1km past the electricity pylons, where the cliffs briefly run roughly east-west for a little while.

3. The photos were taken from the Kedumba Valley Rd, but not half-way up. I was on the stretch near the bottom that runs parallel to the Kedumba River.

4. Tyreless, I can see why you guessed the Sublime Point fire trail looking at Sublime Point. On the same trip I did photograph Sublime Point from the fire trail, but I took the photo on my phone and it didn't show enough detail to post here.

Over to you, jonnosan.

In NSW. I've lost track of reality and hope that this picture has not been posted before. A moment later he fell over, much to our amusement.

Graham51, correct. Johnw, incorrect. However, both of you have the right state. I'm in a state of Confusion.

Surely it can't be something as obvious as the Snowy River crossing below Charlottes?

That's what I thought too. I suspect "state of confusion" is the key but I can't get my head around it.

State of confusion refers to my navigation and general attitude. Doubtful is indeed doubtful. However, my heart goes out to NNW's Valentine suggestion, which is correct. This is the crossing near Valentine Hut, looking north.

State of confusion is my default setting.

Still in dubberland. Name the peak in the visible high ridge.

That's a creek, not a tarn. But you are in the right NP.

I've never heard of a peak called Jagungal Saddle. Nor is that where I am.
Your previous guess was closer.

It is Dicky Cooper Creek, GBW, so the name of the peak is . . . ?
You'll get it right when you respond, so I might as well stop being so pedantic and let you have it. Looking at Dicky Coopers Bogong from Dicky Cooper Creek, in a lovely foggy morning.
