well, you could be totally wrong, but in fact in this instance you are totally correct. I also don't know the name of the rocky area where I was standing, but it's looking up Kedumba River towards Castle Head on Narrowneck.

The only area on the other side that I can think of that has walls like that is grose r/govetts crk valleys. but Ive never seen a clearing like that there..
From your description it sounds like your near shortridge pass but yeah.. fairly certain there is no clearing like that (unless its completly hidden) and the topography doesnt quite fit. So im very curious.

I see it but it looks looks a bit swampish to me and seems a strange and hard to access area for any type of work programme but will see.. Its a very curious image and will be good to learn the location.
