You can cross the outlet creek of Coootapatamba on something that looks a lot like that, if my memory hasn't gone totally haywire which it usually does when it comes to things like this.

So, we're between Blue and Cootapatamba, and west of the Snowy . . . Club Lake creek? Only time I've been around there, the snow covered pretty much everything.

Cootapatamba was closer. There are no named lakes that I'm aware of, only ponds like the one in the photo. I thought this one might have been a bit harder.

Based on all of that I'm going to say Wilkinsons Creek.
No idea exactly which part of it, I've seen a lot of similar looking places in the general area.

We have a winner, bad luck NNW, you were close. One of those photos you see, you know you've been there before but can't place it.
FYI I was exploring around the headwaters of Swampy Plain River and rested here before heading to Townsend. Swampy Plain was relatively hard work and I'm guessing, prime Pygmy Possum habitat.

Thanks crollsurf, sorry NNW. I've wondered about having a stroll along the Swampy Plain River.
NSW, what am I on here?

Looks similar, but no. Broadly the same region but I'm 16 or 17 km from there. This one is off track.
It's not in the top 20, but the mountain that I'm on the upper slopes of is of similar elevation to some more popular spots.

Yes eggs. I suspect it is not often visited outside winter, as most are heading further out from Charlottes. I was just sussing out a potential route parallel with Spencers Creek (north).
An interesting short scrub bash above the Poma lift track to the Guthrie summit, and eventually arriving at some lovely open walking.

Close, but I don't think this creek has a name - there is something named just down the way though.

My original thinking on this one was that you could be either below Blue Lake looking at Little Twynam and the Crummer Spur, or near the Junama Hut ruins below Mt Northcote/Mt Lee.
But neither really lines up well with my recollection or the map.

Its been a while - it is actually a little above Blue Lake - this creek flows into it - and its right next to the Blue Lake track.
That is Little Twynam in view.

Yes, for me too. Recent past KNP plans were destroyed by fire and Covid.
I checked my own photos again and now know where you are.
Blue Lake is obscured from that angle which I think confused all. Were you lying down for that shot?

Yes Stef, at the crossing. I was being a bit cheeky as it's only a few hundred metres back down the hill from eggs' previous photo.

I can't recall seeing this before. The rock looks like that in the limestone karst area around Blue Waterholes/Yarrangobilly etc.
But the hole looks too neat for a natural cave. More like a mine adit or maybe a tunnel related to the Snowy Mountains hydro scheme?
