Thanks 'dingo, another place to explore. Some fascinating place names through Ettrema Gorge.

NSW, similar location. It's late afternoon and I've just climbed up from the bottom:

Nowhere near the Colo Greg. Kowmung was much closer, but still a long way off.

I’m thinking you’re looking into the Shoalhaven...near the bock up?

Still in the general area but you've overshot my location and gone too far the other way. Blockup was a few kms closer.
I'm at the top of a relatively popular descent. In theory, if I crane my neck a bit, I should be able to make out the ruins near the river that I visited earlier in the day.

You are about 30 km east-ish of this location. Sorry, I should have been clearer in my earlier posts. This is the Shoalhaven River.
puredingo's guess of Blockup Gorge was about 3 km away from this spot. Other clues should now be more helpful.

That's it puredingo. I'm near some old winch gear at the top of the descent to the river.
We had been to the old Tolwong mine ruins and chimney down in the gorge.
I'm looking towards Bungonia Gorge so they are probably somewhere off to the right.

Although that could be considered in the Gammon Ranges - it's still part of the overall Flinders Ranges.
This is more associated with areas close to Adelaide.

You are now a bit south of my spot. It is not very far from Australia's most iconic large river and shares the name of the nearby town.

Yes, I've sometimes been amazed at unexpected things I've found not far from home.

Close by, but no. I'm on a walking track. The feature I'm overlooking and the lump in the distance are both named.
