Just wondering if the file name is also the name of the river or are you being extra tricky?

I can say with certainty that the file name is nothing to do with the location. I was going to name the picture Watsons Crags, Breadknife or The Castle, but that would be silly. These three places are not rivers, and I don't know any other NSW names. I'm not even sure where it is, so hopefully together we can find out. A clue. The river is west of the NSW coast.

I am not convinced the body of water containing Alfred actually qualifies as a 'river', it looks to me more like a creek, which may well be a tributary for a river.
So will take a random guess - Is it the Colo?

Not the Colo, upper reaches of a river and so named, like Alfred River. It's not the Alfred ...

None of those. I picked Alfred at random from the alphabet. When I said "Like Alfred River" I meant like a river - any river - close to the source. The next picture is very close by, same river. We renamed sections of the river, none of which have gained official approval.

I'm reading "close to" as being not "in" knp, which rules out my initial inkling that it might be the Goodradigbee (since you said "upper" reaches. How "close" to knp? Could it be Tuross cascades?

It looks like the top of Major's Creek Falls but Major's Creek being far from KNP, relatively, ... I'll say, the top of Buddong Falls?

None of the above, sorry. I suggest that you focus on KNP, within the NP. A short distance from here is a very popular spot with bushwalkers, 4WD and horse riders.

No. It's south of an east-west line through Rules Point.

Seems like a good guess, Warren. Cf. Alfred Wallace.

Nope. You should have picked up by now that the photo credits have nothing to do with the location. The river is south of an east-west line through Round Mountain on the Cabramarra Road. Just east is a biggish creek flowing south that shares its name with a nearby mountain that has no track to the top, and a fire trail. About six kilometres south is a peak that shares its name with a European capital. There's also a song of the same name.

No, I'm sitting at a desk at home. The picture is of the Murray River, part of NSW, just below Cowombat Flat, Pilot Creek from the north, near Pilot Fire Trail, and and Moscow Peak to the south. I figured that by the time I got to south of an east-west line through Pilot it would have been obvious.

Moscow, Queen of the Russian land,
Built like a rock to stand, proud and divine.
Moscow, your golden towers glow,
Even through ice and snow, sparkling they shine.

All yours.
