You've identified Mt Mouin on the left, but it's not from Narrowneck. Close but, so far, no cigar.

Some judicious cropping going on there . First thought is Townsend and Alice Rawson from somewhere in Wilkinsons Valley below Muellers Peak.

I didn't realise how much the quality of that photo sucks. Here is a slightly different view from the same location.

I still can't make out much detail - just enough to know it's nowhere I've personally visited, but seems to be a subordinate peak somewhere in the alps so scrolling around the topo looking at interesting place names - 'purgatory hill?'

Not Purgatory Hill Jonnosan, or anything in that immediate vicinity. You are in the right general region though. This peak is a fair way north east of the Cascades area as the crow flies, and is not all that commonly visited. The summit is around 1500 m ASL. There is a significant body of water out of view well to my left in both photos. The area nearby is popular with fly fishermen and the like.

Yes and yes Zapruda. It was one of those walks that had some adventure and a bit of everything. The main issue when we did it (end of 2006) was that it really needed a high clearance 4WD for access. Fortunately I then owned one. The road in might be better now, but check. Most of the walk itself is quite easy. There was a hut, a river crossing, an off track climb to the top via a plateau inhabited by scores of wallabies, great views from the trig (below the summit), then a very scrubby descent when I decided to be a smartarse and take a direct route back down, and stampeding wild horses including a standoff with a brumby stallion on the Botherum Plain.

It was Twynam and little Twynam on the right hand side of last pic that gave it away. Thanks for all the info, John. Sounds like it was a nice adventure.

Looks like Royal NP, Garie Beach or North Era. I've done the walk once and the places blurred!

Thanks. I should have taken more pics. The pic below is in Victoria. While it's a well-known region, despite the foot track it seems that not many people venture to this spot.
