Little Bogong? I can only visualise the Bogong High Plains from the north.

I am south of Bogong - Bogong is not in the view at all.
I am looking south.

Closer, but not Jaithmathang.
The rocks here were similar to a band I crossed when heading south from Jaithmathang. They also are similar to Mt Jim.

Basalt Temple? The last few trips there's been fog, so I did not see it!

There's a big pylon on that distant ridge, looks like maybe part of a ski-tow? Basalt Temple sounds like a good guess, although I thought the track near there was clearer than the green pad in the photo.

Basalt Temple is correct. The mountain behind is Mt Loch.

The approach from the plains is clear of trees - but the forest starts as it drops over the edge. From there it varies as to how open it gets.
This was a bit closer to the Basalt Temple.

NNW has better eyes than me - I could not make out anything that said Hotham Heights. This is what I saw last time I was at Basalt Temple.

The next pic is in Victoria. I cannot recall if the trig is still there.

Would that be Feathertop from Mt Fainter South?

It is not Nelse, mainly because it it Fainter. It may be Fainter North or South - not sure. It was a long slog up from Bogong Village for a weekend. Feathertop in the background. All yours GBW.

Looks more like Howitt to me, although the massive wolf spider hogging the highest point last time I was there seems to have finally moved on.

Fainter-closer-to-Bogong-jacks is how I think of it. And the trig was still there last time I visited, although - like you (and me) - it looked the worse for wear.

Never really been into pies for brekky. It's best at a certain time of the afternoon, 'cause that's when you can get the rainbow.

Pies are good at any time. On the OLT and many parts of Tassie there's mud pies. This is in Victoria.

Good enough, Snowy it is. The cliff on the right is the end of the walk and the start of the float. I think this may be Snowy River Gorge. It was maybe 10 minutes floating downstream to a lovely sandy bank, where we had lunch. We walked for the rest of the trip. The last night was on the true left bank. It was tres steep getting out on the true right bank.

Tuesday is Cup Day, so Wobbly may have gone bush for the long weekend. However, Wobbly's last post was after 9pm on Friday. If Wobbly was going away for the weekend he or she would surely be driving then. I reckon if Wobbly has not posted by, say, 9am on Tuesday, anyone can go. How does that sound?
