I think I'm seeing ocean in the distance. Not confident but I'll try Mount Brown.

The ocean was in the opposite direction - but it could just be seen.

That's the one GBW. It was interesting exploring the cave but you need a head torch. I'm heading down to Jindabyne after Christmas and might revisit the Blue Waterholes area. Haven't been there for many years. For some strange reason it's Nicole Gorge on the signage at the site but Nichols Gorge on the map.

Every time I've visited Murray's Cave, I've been in the habit of renaming it after politicians I despise. Now called Dutton's Cave after my visit a month ago, previously known as Rudd's Cave! Yes... small things (in this case a really big thing) amuse small minds.

Not Tantangara Ck NNW. I'm looking north from a trail above a well known river and site. Next guess you may strike it lucky!

Very WAG because I only know bits and pieces of northern Kosci. On Far Bald Mountain Trail above Happy Jacks Dam on the Tumut River?

Mmm, that suggests somewhere in the vicinity of Kiandra. I've poked about around there but not extensively. Based on the clues I'll try on the Gooandra trail above the Eucumbene River near Six Mile Diggings.

Eucumbene river and Kiandra are correct John but not from the Gooandra Trail.

The only other spot that looks like it might fit is the AAWT near the junction of the Eucumbene R with Bullocks Head Creek. It's close to New Chum Hill and there are mine ruins around there.

Close John but the trail I'm on heads south to a mountain of the same name from Kiandra. I'm looking north remember.

I'll be down there next week. I'm starting to think it will be quicker to look for it on the ground!
With limited options remaining, heading south from Sawyers Hut near Kiandra - Four Mile Trail, which traverses Four Mile Hill, which then becomes Tabletop Mountain Trail South skirting Tabletop Mountain. I'm using SIX Maps as the reference, in case other maps use different names.

I think that's close enough John. I'm on Tabletop Trail near Dunns Hill looking back to Kiandra. All yours.

Very generous GBW, I'm still a fair way off. I had ruled that one out because it looked too far from the river.

Staying in NSW. Looking back to my lunch spot:

Yes eggs, it has always fascinated me that it even has a name. On my favourite route via the Crummer Spur and just starting up the climb to Twynam proper. I think you've been there once or twice :).
