Not long ago, there would have been thousands of rabbit burrows hereabouts. Well, at least 1066.

A non-cryptic clue: this is in the Vulkathunha / Gammon Ranges NP.

My maps suggest Benbonyathe Hill is at 1064m.
I think it is the highest in the area, so not sure about your 1066?

But your other clue suggests Mt Warren-Hastings, and the view would fit it better.
PS - [duh - should learn more history...]

Well done, eggs. Yes, the view is a reasonable clue. Lake Frome on the eastern horizon, Mt Chambers to the south.

(Aside: the rock only really looks like the profile of a face of you view it from the east)

^ Interesting. The east is the better view. Only seen it from the western side. And I posted a photo of it way back in this game. Not saying I have guessed right though.:)

Here's the face, cropped from a photo by Tom Brennan which appears on this page (where there is also a close-up photo from the west showing the "Darth Vader" profile).

It does look a lot more like a profile from the east.

Back to the game. Where in NSW was I last Sunday. Here's a clue:
