Thanks Zapruda.

NSW, not sure if this one might be a test:

Not Hedley Tarn. Not too far away, but this tarn is unnamed and much smaller.
Could be a bit tricky to get, so a reasonably accurate general location will be good enough.

Not there. I accessed this area via a fairly popular peak.
I don't think too many visit up here but I found it a really interesting walk.

I have so many random tarns running through my memory right now.

Ok, one last crack. Is it found somewhere along Kangraoo Ridge?

Excellent crack, you got it. Yes, I found a number of unexpected small tarns and other features along here.
Came over Mt Stillwell and headed south well away from the hordes, who were out of sight most of the time.
Did a circuit back to CP via the Snowy R for a swim then down the road. Lovely day out.

Thanks John. It is very fun area to explore. And you are right, it’s rarely visited outside of Stilwell and the Restaurant.

Still in NSW. An easy one.

Witzes hut it is! The northern frost plains are awesome. I really enjoy that whole area between Kiandra and the ACT border. So much history and off track exploring.

All yours John.

Thanks Zapruda, it's on my bucket list to do more around there.
Staying with that theme a really easy one (NSW):

I'll be cheeky and jump in, even though I've got one going in the International game at this time.

I'll be doubly cheeky and post this photo, even though I know for a fact that none of you have been there. I'll post more clues as time goes on...

Northern Territory, within a national park.

It's not northern NT. The area would be referred to as "Central Australia".

This photo is taken from the same place as the previous one, but facing in the opposite direction.

Is it the part of Standley Chasm that is not publicly accessible?

Reminds me of a walk I did through the Olgas back in 1970

It's not the Olgas, Greg, nor Standley Chasm, Graham.

Here are some more photos. The first one is taken looking downwards from near the bottom of Ribuck Ramp. If you go upstream for about 20 metres you would get to the spot from which the first two photos were taken.

If you go downstream, in 10 metres you arrive at the rim of a dry waterfall, and you can't go further without abseiling. If you look down from the rim, you get the view in the second photo.

Below the waterfall and around a corner is a chockstone, known to the occasional bushwalker who approaches from below. After scrambling up behind the chockstone, it's easy to get to the bottom of the dry waterfall but no further. The chockstone is the subject of the third photo.

No-one knows that chockstone?

OK then, let's widen the view. The first photo is looking up the amphitheatre that contains the gorge. The second photo is looking down the same amphitheatre from the top of the ridge behind it.

Could be anywhere amongst this lot. The whole area's quite gorgeous.

Near but far suggests proximity to Larapinta?
