Bolts in Kanangra

Postby citationx » Sun 03 Jan, 2016 11:57 am

Went to Kanangra and down Morong Deep this weekend and noticed some bolts I'd never seen before and was after some information.
On the edge of the overhanging rock on Kanangra Walls (that "really really famous" one) there appear to be two well-maintained hangered bolts right near the lip. Does anyone know the details about who when where why?
Also, less annoyingly, and more out of interest, there are two bolts at the top of the large (83r) cliff line of Morong Falls (also hangered, though one of the actual bolts appears to have some rust). Does anyone know anything about these? How long do your ropes need to be, is there another anchor below, is this supposed to be part of "canyoning Morong Falls"?
I can't really find details about either of these.

Contact the guys from Oberon State Emergency Service. They have a bit of knowledge about a lot of the bolts in the Kanangra region.
