Deep Pass campsite

Postby LeftRightShoot » Tue 19 Apr, 2016 9:38 pm

Hi,

I'm planning on heading up to deep pass campsite and was trying to find out if water is available at camp (or how far the walk is to get it). Not a show stopper but just want to plan for it. I'll have purifier.

Plenty of water there from the creek that flows out of the canyon. Get your water from where you cross the creek just before the campsite. It is usually OK to drink without treatment in my experience (never known anyone to get ill).

Also - watch the road. The last time I visited, earlier in the year, the last few hundred metres on a downhill section was very rough (even for a Subaru). Probably better to park at the top? But some nearby roads - like the one to Galah Mt have recently been graded, so perhaps that one has too.
