Camp Cave Hill (Kings Tableland)

Postby jonnosan » Sat 27 Aug, 2016 2:02 pm

Is there actually a camp cave at Camp Cave Hill? I had a bit of a poke around a few weeks ago, we didn't find anything that would justify the name close to the road. We followed an old fire trail that seemed to still get some foot traffic but we stopped for time reasons once we got a fair way from the road (having just checked 'Canyons Near Sydney I think we must have been following a canyoners track).

I went back today for another poke around the area and after several enjoyable hours exploring creeks, overhangs, rock ledges, and steep scrubby ridges looking for anything that might qualify as a camp cave, I can confirm there is in fact a small camp cave 2m from the road :-)

I didn't get a grid reference but from memory would have been about here: http://topo.notto.be/#ll=-33.779426,150 ... p%2520cave
