Munyang power station bridge closed

Postby Daveisbludging » Thu 22 Dec, 2016 9:29 am

I was planning a walk at Christmas and noticed an alert that the bridge was closed. Is it possible to get across the river here or do I need to find another starting point?

The bridge that is out is the one at the far end of the power station providing access to the eastern aquaduct - Disappointment Spur side (GR267766). Trying to cross the Munyang River here has always looked (never tried) quite difficult. The parking area is on the southern side of the Snowy River and the bridge across to the power station and the main road up to Schlink Pass is fine. You need to walk up the road to Schlink or divert onto the western aquaduct either directly after the steep section of the road or via Horse Camp Hut. I always find either of the aquaducts a nicer walk than the road.
