The Great River Walk (GRW)

Postby wombeyan » Sat 24 Jun, 2017 12:17 pm

The GRW is a new long distance walk from the source of the Hawkesbury system to the mouth, a 450km walk. It is being opened in sections with the Lower Portland to Spencer Section in the late planing stage at the moment. This section can be walked now. It is just a matter of getting council and NPWS approval for the signs. The Route is via the Bicentennial road to Wisemans Ferry then the Great North Road to 10 Mile Hollow, then Simpsons Track to Mangrove Creek, then Oystershell Road to the bridge and onto Spencer. A future section may go through the Glenworth Valley to Marlow, then to Mount White, through Popran NP to Peats Ferry and Brooklyn, then Little Wobby to Patonga and onto Pearl Beach and Boudhi in the north or Ferry to Palm Beach and Barrenjoey in the south.
