geeeeeez its great weather to get out there and scout around and forage about :P

I went down the Mt Kuring-gai to Calna Creek track today and ended up facing THE new bridge across Calna Creek on the Great North Walk. The new bridge in 2015 cost the taxpayer (taxpayer ?) $270,000. No 'bouncing' on this baby

Sure is Rob. I visited the new bridge doing the Berowra to Mt K walk during the course of last year. It's definitely a solid and impressive structure. No bouncing, but it's unlikely to fall in the creek either . Another view of it:

The bit I have a problem understanding is illustrated here:

Huge amounts of expensive gal steel engineering - on wooden posts.

Cheers

 I didn't look closely at the posts Roger. I assumed it was just discoloured concrete!
Yep, the old bridge definitely had character.

Those wooden piles can be replaced or wrapped in due course. Would concrete be worse for the creek bed? More environmental damage?
