Recommend a walk halfway between Canberra and Melbourne?

Postby rattler » Fri 10 Aug, 2018 11:26 am

Hi all,

I am in Melbourne, and my friend is in Canberra. We are looking for somewhere roughly in the middle of us for a weekend hike (leave Friday night so 2 nights total). Aiming for October probably.

Can anyone make some suggestions? I guess something along the awwt but it doesn't have to be.

Myy two hiking partners are reasonably experienced (overland track etc) and I've done a few overnighters.

Thanks!

Anything in the Bright, Mt Beauty, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham area. That gives options like Bogong, Feathertop, Fainters ...

Wow, awesome! I didn't realise all that good stuff was roughly in the middle. Perhaps I should have started with a map (oops)

Thanks!
