I wonder if anyone can tell me what the walk from Olsens Lookout to Watsons Craig is like now, in particular when you go up through the forest after you cross the Geehi River. I did this walk in winter 45 years ago and don't recall there being any sort of a pad to follow but our small party of three had no trouble getting up through the forest. I'm panning to do this on a circuit walk to Mt Jugungal in March. Thanks for your interest.

A lot of this was burnt and the regrowth is very thick. Have fun.

Agreed, very scrubby.

It is still possible and I have heard first hand reports of it being done. You swim through the scrub in that part of the world.

Thanks nnw and Zaprunda. This walk was going to be on the last day of a 7 day circuit walk to Jugungal from Geehi Flat so I may still 'risk' it since it's downhill apart from the climb up to the road. (Yes it's me again Zapundra, the Hannels Spur walk is on the following day or maybe better after a rest day!)
