Grand Canyon campsites

Postby bng » Mon 25 Mar, 2019 7:35 pm

I'm thinking of photographing the glow worms in the gullies of the Grand Canyon loop in the Blue Mountains.
I recall there being one or two small campsites on the track but I don't remember their exact location. Does anybody know approximately where along the track the campsite is?

Happy to be wrong but I've never seen anyone camp on the GC track itself. There are no facilities there so you'd be sleeping and crapping near one of the busiest tracks in the mountains. I reckon you should check with the National Parks visitor centre in Blackheath before you start pitching your tent.

Heh BNG
No harm bivvying under an overhang somewhere,
busy 3+ in the day but nobody likely to be there after dark really,
no formal campsites and no space either,
damp and probably attract a few leaches

I did check with National Parks and they confirmed no camping on the track

Cheers guys,
I know there's no facilities or a proper campsite or anything - just seeing if there were any known spots to set up a small tent and nap while waiting for the moon to rise.
It's a pretty well maintained track so I'll probably just do a night hike instead.
