access to jagungal via nimmo road/ snowy plains fire trail

Sat 13 Apr, 2019 9:40 am

Any advice on how far in along this route I might be able to get with careful driving in a 2wd? I'm planning a Jagungal circuit at the beginning of May and if possible would like to start and finish at Cesjacks rather than round mountain.

There's a discussion about Nimmo Road on this thread:

Further searching should dig up more info. And the forum does have a search function...

Thanks for the tip. I was hoping for something I little more recent as I am aware that road conditions can change rapidly. Ideally i'd like to hear from somenone who has been up there this summer.

cheers

Years ago when I did it, apart from my own research, I rang the ranger for that patch, who was very helpful about road conditions.
At that stage high clearance 4WD was recommended. Fortunately I owned one at the time and there were spots that needed it, but much would have been OK in a lesser vehicle.

We did it in a Forrester around the New Year and doubt you would even get down to the Gungarlin depending on what sort of 2wd.
