Megalong Tragedy - by Michael J. Baker.

I had an hour to kill in Springwood yesterday, after walking the Victory Track to Glenbrook Ck. and then back to Warrimoo via Florabella Pass, and so decided to visit the local library. ( And an excellent little library it is too. ) Whilst there I found this little book about the Oonagh Kennedy drowning in the Coxs River at the junction with Breakfast Ck. in 1967. I had seen the plaque at the to Oonagh and wondered what her story was? I found the book fascinating. Unfortunately the library closed before I could finish it and so I will have to pay a return visit, but it seems that Oonagh and 4 young friends went riding from Packsaddlers and were caught on the wrong side of the Coxs after flash flooding. Very sad. If anyone is prepared to lend me their copy let me know.
