K to K - transport suggestions?

Postby kanangra » Tue 08 Jun, 2010 8:50 am

This winter I am looking at skiing through from Guthega in the south to Kiandra in the north. Is there a shuttle service out of Cooma that could drop us at Guthega and then pick us up from Kiandra at the end?

This question has come up before and I have met walkers who have arranged transport of sorts, usually with small operators/tour guides but recently I tried to find someone over the net with no luck. I was told it was not cheap though.

One place worth a try is the visitors information center in Cooma

Contact Details:

Cooma Visitor Information Centre
119 Sharp Street
Cooma, NSW 2630
Toll Free: 1800 636 525
Telephone: 02 - 6450 1742
Fax: 02 - 6450 1798

This winter depending on my recovery I am hoping to do a snow shoe trip in the opposite direction, Guthega via the main range to Mt Kosciuszko, then down to Thredbo and somehow back to car, possibly get a lift to the ski tube to Blue Cow then chair lifts or snow shoe to Guthega.

Taxi from Cooma ? Nice idea on Snowy Visitors' Centre tony.

Maybe arrange a lift out of Adaminaby with someone going to Selwyn (check with the Snow Goose)?
