Long weekend, wasted or not?

Postby Size 11 » Mon 13 Jun, 2011 3:30 pm

Well, my plans for the weekend, were to go flyfishing to the snowies. I'm glad I did'nt, although sometimes when i have gone there the weather has been better than in Sydney. Weekend wasted for me, although i did need a break, it's been a while.
How did you go?
Surely you did'nt go sloshing around in the scrub, and knew you should'nt have.

Cheers Jez

Long weekend, wasted or not?

I took my little man down to the snowies to have his first play in the snow (he's 2 and the last two seasons he's been to young to get amongst it when there). Mum n bub trip and we loved it. Hate to say it but yes the weather was a lot better down there than what we've just come home to. A little drizzle but nothing too serious. Definitely not wasted for me! :-)

Somewhat wasted for me. Had a medical appointment right in the middle of Saturday, which was going to interfere with any plans regardless. But the weather has been absolute crap. 9 year old nephew stayed over and we went for a trip into the city with him yesterday. I'd hoped to get out for a walk today but that just wasn't going to happen in the conditions. A few chores around the house got some attention, so not totally wasted I guess.

On Saturday I did Ben's Walk at Nowra along Nowra Creek which was an hour and a half. Next weekend we're going up to Katoomba, so while my wife will be at the Winter Magic Festival on Saturday, I'll be doing Federal Pass, and on Sunday we'll be going out to Ruined Castle/Mt Solitary together. I hope the weather is better next weekend!!!! :D

Sorry Jez. I didn't think you'd want to here from me ;-) Hopefully you'll get down there for a fish soon :-) such a beautiful part of the world. I plan to retire there (now to wait the 20 something years till that happens).

I've got the same plan. My plan is to move not far from where my avatar pic was taken. (Kalkite village, Lake Jindabyne) :D

I was working over the long weekend, however today was a day off so I walked a section of the Great North Walk from Hornsby to Mt Ku-Ring-Gai. Very cold and wet and a couple of the creek crossings a litle hairy, but very enjoyable as I haven't done a decent walk for a while. Got home just before sunset, hot shower, cold beer and a visit to this awesome website. What could be better! :D

It was OK where I was (started from Kiandra). Few snow showers, nippy wind, early fog, but good walking and camping weather.
Plus I finished with a Prawn Burger from the Jindy Fish Shop. That's always good. :D
