The Tweed Pinnacle

Postby tas-man » Wed 06 Jul, 2011 1:47 pm

While looking through my old slides, I found a set taken on a Cessna 172 flight while trying to locate a group of walkers lost in the Grady's Creek catchment in January 1977. I took the opportunity to get a few photos during the search, and this one of the Tweed Pinnacle is worth sharing. I posted this other photo of the Tweed Pinnacle in the "Where am I - Australia" competition - download/file.php?id=10618&mode=view

Yes they were found. I discussed some background to this search in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4852#p60088
If you are interested in the story and a bit of history about the early days of bushwalking search and rescue, here are some of the newspaper reports of the time from my FMR records that were used for a submission to Westpac for a film "Walk With Safety" that was produced by Rob Rankin in 1978.
