Hi Folks
Please find attached information relating to Parks Victoria’s Alpine National Park Deer Control Trial for 2016/2017.
As outlined, excepting unforeseen circumstances, the next Deer Control Trial operation will take place:
· ADA and SSAA Operation – Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 January 2017
The attached for information will help identifying the Control Operation Areas.
As previously, all trial operations will be conducted strictly in accordance with a detailed Operations Plan and under the direction of a Parks Victoria Operations Controller. All personnel involved in the control operations will be readily identifiable and will act in accordance with legislative requirements and strict protocols to ensure the safe use of firearms.
Again the Park will not be closed and there will be no access restrictions for visitors; however signs will be placed on major access points to advise that an operation is being undertaken. Outside of Parks Victoria managed control operations, hunting will remain prohibited on the Bogong High Plains.

I get this email as well. If anyone wants the attachments I can send them on. This is a trial or experiment to find the best way to control deer. So far it has not done too well and one of the attachments talks about the stats.
