Hi all. That's right, I am back. Haven't been on here for a good 8 or so months. And, in that time, I moved to Melbourne so I am champing at the bit to start exploring the wonderful state of Victoria.
Say, who here has hiked Mount Bullfight Nature Conservation Reserve and surrounding areas. Looking at the maps, there doesn't appear to be much between say, Lake Mountain and the Jerusalem arm of Eildon. Looks like wilderness ripe for tramping.

*shameful admission*
I've never even heard of it . . .

Oh you haven't? It's a bit north east of Lake Mountain.

Paul, the neighborhood has been pounded by logging. There would be a lot of places a hell of a lot better to go.

I've walked in the Mt Torbreck Reserve, just north of Mt Bullfight (although probably a decade ago). It's generally thickly vegetated, infrequently visited, few if any maintained tracks - might be what you're looking for !
However, access to water-courses (particularly Snobs Ck) was impossible when away from the road - blackberry 100s of metres wide - the main reason why I haven't been back.

The terrain between Mt. BullFight, Mt Torbreck and Lake Mtn. has been logged into oblivion. Only these three reserved areas have been spared.

The Mt. Torbreck summit walk is excellent and so too is the Rubicon aquaduct and tramway walk. These few places have not been logged into quasi wastelands.
