Approach to Crolls Gorge

Postby MulgaBill » Tue 09 Jan, 2018 8:11 pm

What is the best approach from the Wellington River Bridge?
Follow the Wellington River Track and turn off at the 7th river crossing and walk up the River?
OR
Continue on to Shaws Gap, and then follow the spur down to the Wellington River ?

I haven't been in since the fires so I'm not sure about regrowth scrub, but I've always headed in from just after the 7th crossing, keeping high at a bluff above the river and then dropping down. I've never been in from Shaw's Gap though?

It's a nice spot for a swim on a hot day.

Thanks for the feedback bigkev,
Have been along the WRT several times and always bypassed Crolls Gorge.
So on this occasion will take the time to explore the Gorge before moving on.
