The BHP road from Mt. Beauty to Falls Creek is closed this week due to wet and windy weather and possible snow.Possible reopening date could be Friday 6-10-23. Maybe. Maybe not.

Just for clarification. The road was only closed between Mt. Beauty and Falls Creek due to the potential for the landslip to become active again. About 200mm of rain fell at Falls creek this week. Very little snow and not enough to close the road. BHP will open after the slip has been assessed and deemed safe. And BHP road is open from 10am today between Mt. Beauty and Falls Creek but the Omeo Hwy is closed at Anglers Rest due to flood damage. Essentially the bridge went under water and collected some debri, part of the underlying road abutting the bridge has been washed away. I believe it needs to be inspected at the very least but some repairs might be needed.

Just before Christmas the Mount Beauty-Falls Creek road had one lane only with lights at or near the slip. It will take a bit longer to drive this section. The management track from the road to Spring Saddle had "road closed" at the top, and this will be so for a while according to the sign. One alternative is to start at Big Hill Car Park, about 2 hours to the Spring Saddle Track junction.
