Cathedral Ranges

Just an FYI.
Took a group for a 2 night stay at The Farmyard (between North and South Jawbone), at the Cathedral Ranges State Park a couple of weeks ago. For the first time in 30 years of hiking here, there was no water in the spring you pass a few 100 metres down from the Farmyard/North Jawbone intersection. For those who remember it came out of what looked like a rock from a small pool, and with a good leaf you could get a decent flow. Well now is full of mud and no water. I was quite shocked as even in the middle of the drought many years ago it still had water. Maybe if it was cleaned out it might flow again. Hint hint for anyone heading up there.
We were able to get water a bit further down from the big rock slab that is just before where the track takes a steep hard right turn and the steps begin. We cleaned out the top section of the slab which allowed for more flow and then scrubbed the rock and a small pool from mud and leaves, half way up the slab. Once again with a good leaf you could fill a litre bottle in about 2 minutes. Not the fastest but at least it worked. There was over 20 of us in the group and we got enough water for all of us for the three days we were there, just took a while.
