AAWT Walhalla to Baw baw

Hello everyone,

I spent my Easter weekend on a 3 day hike from Walhalla to Baw Baw summit + return, and just want to say I am hooked.
I spent last night planning my next leg, Baw Baw to Mt Buller.
My only concern is the ridge line from Mt Shillinglaw to Mt Sunday seem to have a lack of water supply. Are there any water tanks or other tips?
For this reason I might plan the trip in November when the waterways still have the best chance of a flow.i am willing to carry 6 or 7 litres for what I judge atm a 2 day dry spell along the ridge.

Thoughts?

Is Shillinglaw to Sunday a two-day stretch? There's always water near Rumpff Saddle, even if you have to go back down the road to the pipe. From there to Low Saddle is a single day, far as I recall.

Wow.
Been using Alltrails to plan and search for water but just used google maps to easily find Rumpff saddle and shows alot more waterways.
Actually was meant to type Mt Clear not Sunday. My bad.
Thanks so much for your help.

Sunday to Clear: there's usually water somewhere near Low Saddle, although it might take a bit of searching. After that, there's an unreliable source near the Nobs Track.

I would suggest to the OP that there are four must do sections of the AAWT. After that the rest is OCD stuff and crazy completist torture and can be skipped over.

Not many people enjoy the Stronarch's camp to Low Saddle section. Much pain and not much gain.

The 4 sections that I would not miss would be
1. The Baw Baw area
2. Mt.McDonald to Mt. Speculation
3. The Twins to Mt. Wills
4. The Kosci. N.P. section

I'm hoping the weather gods are kind in the next few weeks, so I can sneak in at least 1 hike in the High Country, before it's too cold for my ability and gear.

Baw Baw is becoming COLD now. May is usually still good for an easy walk out from 8 Mile flat to camp at Ritchie's hut on the Howqua river. I have done all my BC XC ski trip snow camping supply drops in March.
