Since the heavy rain last Tuesday access to Sheepyard Flat has been by 4WD only.

The signs are still up, but the roadwork is finished and there were plenty of 2WDs, caravans and horsefloats up there on the weekend. Business as usual.
The road has been improved somewhat. They've even bridged the fords on Brocks Road. Taken all the fun out of that drive. :(

Unfortunately King Billy 4WD Track is closed, and probably will be for some time. I was thinking of going out that way . . .

Good to hear the road's been tidied up - I was up there the weekend before last and parts of the road into Sheepyard were very boggy and slippery.

We had some fun up there at Christmas time. Camped at Running Creek and took the 4WD track over to Fry's Flats the next day, and then up to Sheepyard Flats. The road to King Billy was closed then. The bridge off Brook's Rd was brand new. I reckon we were the first to cross it because we passed the track that dropped off the last load of last gravel on the lead up to the bridge. The road track from there to Mt. Sunday was lots of fun.

Yeah, the Mt Sunday 'Road' gets interesting when it's wet. A long, slow drive.
