First Hike/Camp, well first real Hike!

Postby ricadam » Wed 17 Jul, 2013 3:37 pm

Ok so I am a real beginner at hiking, I have never done a proper hike (with a hiking bag at least, I have camped before). I have read up on what to do and not to do, What to take and am in the process of acquiring the necessary gear. though I need some advice on where to go!

Are there any beginner tracks that are 1 day in length, preferably loop back to the same spot, where the car will be parked? I live in Caboolture though am willing to travel anywhere in SEQ (within reason) to find a nice spot.

Beach/Bush/Rainforest/ whatever?

Thanks for the help

Hey ricadam.
There are literally dozens of easy day walk in the area. Take an hours drive up to the sunshine coast and head up to Kenilworth and have a look at the Brooloumba creek area. Anything from 2.5km to 11km round trips. Also there is a couple of easy overnight hikes that are easy to do.
heres a couple you may want to try.
